We come together to create a show, residents, and non residents. We open our doors so that you can peer behind the curtain of an alternate reality, that is hard to explain with words. A place to discover that performance is a hybrid of introspection and expression in our world.
Welcome to Momentom Village where artists, musicians and creatives live and together on a dusty hill on the coast of Nicaragua. Apply for one of three intensive residencies for world class professional deep dive with specific guest teachers or stay to do your own thing in the village in between residencies.
This two week intensive incubator brings forth an artistic programme designed to ignite the art within you and to pave the way to the ultimate «artist way». This residency invites you to explore the very essence of your personal creativity.
What does it feel like to be fully and totally self expressed, and what are the practices that support that? It culminates with Christmas in community and a collective ticketed New Years performance choreographed by our professional choreography team.
Momentom Collective introduces a new type of collaborative container as we explore the depth of what it means to create Art. With tons of inspiration from ‘The Artist’s Way’, we set up a programme that is conducive for flow states. For us it is clear that creativity occurs in the moment, and in the moment we are timeless. In 2019 and 2020, Momentom Collective felt called to shift from performance into Prayerformance. Using ceremony and ritual as a leading tool to create dynamic performances that call on the energies of Pacha Mama and the unseen dimensions, bringing their messages to the stage. These powerful portals have become our signature offering.
Typically we align our performance based residencies with major festivals including Cosmic Convergence and Envision Festival. Last year, with Envision cancelled, we focused our energies in residency and our Social Circus outreach project where we introduce new conscious concepts to the locals of Nicaragua. The place to plant seeds for true transformation. This year, the Prayerformance will be on New Years Eve and will be opened to the public.
You will be guided into collective choreography and live first hand the process of creating a performance- from roots to rise. Together we will alchemize our creative energies together to transform idea, into expression.
What happens when a group of artists from all over the world co-create something beyond themselves and their own ego? Tony Tobias captured the 2020 Prayerformance for Envision Festival in a short documentary.
Not at all! All Momentom residencies are a place to develop your skills, as well as create relationships to new ones! Our skilled teachers and performing artists on staff will create a progressive series so that you can contribute and participate no matter your current level of proficiency.
We will provide an array of different disciplines to choose from so that you can be in your highest alignment.
After your application has been accepted, within the following week, you will need to pay a 50 percent deposit to book your place. Then we ask that you pay the remaining amount no more than 30 days before your residency. If you cancel before this time we honor 50% of your deposit as credit for a future residency. If you do not cancel before this time, you will forfeit your deposit and we will have to give the space to someone else.
