The alternate reality designed for creators and producers of our generation. A space designed to enter peak states of mind through sound.
Just off the beaten path in the Pacific coast of Nicaragua, this artist residency is a conscious container & project incubator for creatives looking for a hero’s dose of inspiration and a boost in creative energy to accomplish their vision and remember their infinite potential.
Momentom’s Sound Intensive provides residents from around the world with the unique opportunity to write and record in a state-of-the-art music studio, while being inspired by the Momentom lifestyle and community.
In this 2 week music intensive, residents will be guided into a progressive 10 class series on how to create originally produced music with David Satori (Beats Antique and Dirtwire), Izzy Wise (@izzy_wise), and NAOBA. (@NAOBAmusic)
Using Ableton techniques, as well as live vocal and instrument samples, the decades of experience between our guest facilitators will allow you to enter a space of devotion to your craft.
For the first week of residency, David Satori, with his over 20 years of experience as a touring and performing musician as well as a DJ, will be guiding you through his 5 class series on what it takes to make your own music using Ableton Live software. Throughout this time David has also traveled the world and has become proficient in the musical language of many cultures and will be able to walk residents through how to incorporate unique and unusual samples into original tracks and productions.
In the first week David will be guiding us through the following:
Izzy Wise will then follow up on the second week with a continued dive into Ableton uses and techniques, as well as a focus on sampling and what it takes to incorporate live looping. David and Izzy will also be DJing an ecstatic Dance experience for us at the end of the first week.
NAOBA, our certified in-house studio manager, will be there to support the curriculum with her unique takes on sound compositions, remixing, as well as curating ecstatic dance sets. She will also be available to guide you through your time in our professional recording studio.
As a community we will produce an original track at the end of our 2 weeks together, and overall come away with a better understanding of all the elements that go into song creation, performance DJ sets, and what it takes to navigate the wild world of the music industry.

All amenities available to residents: including Co-Work Space, Movement Space, Yoga Studio, and Fully Equipped Music Recording Studio, this Artist Residency is designed for Musicians, Content Creators, Sound Producers, Artists, DJs, Dancers, visual artists, singers, healers, actors, surfers and clowns.
Surrounded by the Momentom Media Team, residents can record with master sound engineers, capture promotional videos, and have access to portfolio photographers.
Residents will have access to intensives in a variety of subjects and topics in the musical & artistic field – while also having time to develop their personal projects, spirit, and portfolio. With the unique opportunity of living and training with the ‘Masters of Music and Sound’ – this is where you go to create the baseline and rhythm for the optimal lifestyle.

It is not essential to be a musician to join a Sound Residency community experience. We all have creative potential, and the beauty of community living experiences is that you can be curious about parts of yourself that you may not always have the time to investigate otherwise. Each residency is unique and our offerings are the same.
So in addition to our musical instructions you can also take part in the movement classes, the ecstatic dances, sit in on panel style discussion, and learn skills that can inspire you to develop new hobbies and habits. The venue is located on Playa Maderas, which is a secluded beach near San Juan Del Sur, with one of the greatest surf breaks on the continent. So whether in the studio, or in the water, or on the beach watching sunset, you will be able to enjoy an inward and outward journey of your creation.

After your application has been accepted, within the following week, you will need to pay a 50 percent deposit to book your place. Then we ask that you pay the remaining amount no more than 30 days before your residency. If you cancel before this time we honor 50% of your deposit as credit for a future residency. If you do not cancel before this time, you will forfeit your deposit and we will have to give the space to someone else.
